Dr. Krishna Subramony Iyer

Dr. Krishna Iyer is a leading pediatric cardiac surgeon in India, recognized for his expertise in congenital heart disease. In 1995, he pioneered Northern India’s first dedicated pediatric cardiac care program at Escorts Heart Institute (now Fortis-Escorts). With over 10,000 surgeries, including complex procedures like double-switch and arterial switch operations, Dr. Iyer has greatly advanced pediatric cardiac care. Trained at AIIMS and Melbourne’s Royal Children’s Hospital, he is a founder of the Asia-Pacific Pediatric Cardiac Society and a key figure in the World Congress of Pediatric Cardiology. He has received numerous awards, including the Sorel Catherine Friemna Prize.
